2017 Ride Destinations
25 weeks of "riding to eat, eating to ride" for charity culminated at the Reason-To-Ride party which saw $31,735 raised for MDA Ride for Life. An estimated 1000+ "Reason-To-Riders" in attendance were treated to a free lunch of Italian sausage sandwiches, fried chicken, and a gourmet hot dog bar. Pittsburgh area 'trucker rock' band, "East Coast Turnaround" provided the entertainment. MDA Ambassador Abby spoke to the crowd thanking them for their participation and explained how contributions help people like her with muscular dystrophy.
Items donated by Howard's Auto Body Restoration, Luckystrike Designs, Art Collins, and other handmade items by MDA children were auctioned off during the event. In addition, a 50/50, Chinese auction, and lottery board all helped raise funds for MDA Ride for Life during the event. It was announced the 2018 MDA Ride for Life event (not to be confused with Z&M's Reason-To-Ride event) will be coming to Seven Springs Resort May 3 - 6, 2018. More info can be found at mdarideforlife.org.
Z&M employees including friends and family of Z&M volunteered to help make the event a success. The Reason-To-Ride party marks the end of a very successful summer fundraising season for Z&M. Z&M would like to thank the restaurants who participated and also who each donated a minimum $250 to MDA Ride for Life. Of course the success of the event is dependent on the riders who participate. Z&M is proud to announce a total of 1405 people purchased badges this year.
Reason-To-Ride is a 25 week long event designed to give motorcycle riders a reason to get out and enjoy the open road while visiting some of Southwestern Pennsylvania's best restaurants to raise money for a very important cause, MDA Ride for Life. The event starts mid March and ends the second weekend of September.
Riders purchase a Reason-To-Ride badge from Z&M Harley-Davidson for $10. All proceeds go to MDA Ride for Life. One badge per person. Riders travel to 14 participating restaurants where they receive a unique punch on their badge. Z&M awards prizes for riders who receive a minimum 6 punches on their badge. Riders who receive 14 punches can be entered to win a $3000 Z&M gift card. 5 prize level tiers are award totaling over $5,000 in prize give-a-ways! Prizes are awarded at a season ending party the second weekend in September.
Z&M ensures all funds raised through Reason-To-Ride go directly to MDA Ride for Life. This means the costs involved to run the program such as the badges and lanyards, advertising, t-shirts, and other items needed are absorbed by Z&M.
Download the application above and mail, e-mail, or return to Z&M Harley-Davidson no later than November 1, 2017.
